Moussodjeton 3 Group's story

MOUSSODJETON 3 is a group of six married women from the village of DJALAKORO in the SAN region of SÉGOU, the fourth largest administrative region of Mali. They live in traditional families. Their average age is 29 and they have an average of at least 3 children. They cultivate peanuts. With the goal of making their agricultural business profitable, the group members decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso loan program three years ago. After fully repaying their prior loans, they are on their third loan. The current loan for ADA, who is the president of the group and the first person standing on the left with the blue scarf, will be used to buy peanut seeds, small equipment, and inputs for cultivation, at the main market in SAN. After the rainy season, the harvest is stored for a certain time so that it has value, before being sold at the main market of SAN and at other nearby markets, at retail (often at wholesale), in cash, to customers who usually come from large cities. The members of the group expect to each make, after the distribution and sale of their agricultural products, a profit of 17000 to 70000 FCFA, which will be used to pay the interest on the loan and household expenses.
