A loan helped To buy materials and build a room for her traditional Mongolian shoe making business.

Nergui's story

Nergui is 39 years old and lives with her husband and three children in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. They own a land plot with a small family house on it. Her two youngest children attend a secondary school and the eldest one works with his father at a construction company as a laborer. Nergui is an experienced shoemaker and she makes only traditional Mongolian national shoes. She learned the skill from her father, who was a teacher of traditional shoemaking for many years. She started her shoemaking business in 1996 and since then, she has made many thousands of shoes and she has her own trusted customer base. During these years she has used one of her rooms at home as a workshop. But now her children are growing and need more space. The loan she is taking will be used to buy building materials and to build a separate room that will be used for her shoemaking business.
