Sop Serigne Malick Fall Group's story

The Sop Serigne Malick solidarity group was created on May 11, 2010, the day before the inauguration of the "Banc Villageois" to which it belongs. It is composed of twenty women who live in the neighborhood; they are friends and family. The group's main activity is retail. Mrs. Lissa, the group's leader, is 28 years old. She is married and has one dependent child. She is a seamstress with five years of experience. She is standing on the right of the picture, dressed in a white blouse with a multicolored "pagne" and holding a black scarf in her left hand. Lissa purchases fabrics and the accessories necessary for sewing in the Capital and in big cities. She sews bed sheets which she sells at the village's weekly market. Her loan will allow her to strengthen her activity to meet the demand and earn higher revenues. Her ambition is to buy a villa to house her grandmother. The family's expenses and her personal needs are provided for by her husband, who wants to guarantee them good living conditions.
