Madina's story

Madina lives in Uganda. She is married and has 3 children, all of whom are in school. She also takes care of additional family members (in-laws). Madina has a retail shop business. She has been in this business for 10 years and works 6 days out of every week. Madina sells her products by means of retail. Madina has requested a loan of 1000000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more bags of sugar, cartons of salt, boxes of soap and cooking oil. The main business challenges for Madina include transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to see her business grow bigger, to own her own delivery van, and to start selling wholesale only. Madina lives in a home that she rents. She does not have access to electricity nor to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
