Miriam Del Socorro's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a sink to wash hair, a barber's chair and a manicurist's table.

Miriam Del Socorro's story

Myriam lives in a place very close to the sea with her husband and four children who range in age from 20 to 29. She has a business called “Sala de Belleza Imagen Tice” (Imagen Tice Beauty Salon) located in the city of Barranquilla’s Modelo neighborhood. She opened it shortly after finishing her training. When she purchased the barber shop she relied on a stylist but six months after that she began to work herself applying all the skills she’d learned at the academy and the experience she’d gotten over these months to her customers’ service. Thus she has managed to become very well known in this sector and her customers now refer other people to her who need her beauty salon services and personal and professional image consulting. Myriam is a very happy woman. She and her husband see to the household expenses. Her children are all well developed adults. As a result, her main worry and emphasis now is her business which she intends to make very successful although it has a lot of competition in the area. It has very good infrastructure. She employs two stylists and a barber and the number of her customers grows daily. The Kiva loan is her first loan. She will use it to buy a sink to wash hair, a barber’s chair (because a new barber will be joining the staff) and a manicurist’s table to provide a more effective response to her customers. Her dream for later on is to buy the locale she’s presently located in because currently she rents it and she wants to add other services to it by adding a second story. She also dreams with her children continuing to develop in all their areas.
