Las Divinas Group's story

This community bank group called Las Divinas is found in the community of Amilcingo, Temoac, in the state of Morelos, Mexico. It was started by Mrs. Valeria and Mrs. Ignacia. With the loan, they will buy local candies to stock their business. Mrs. Alfonsa is going to buy corn and firewood to make tortillas. Mrs. Maribel will buy food for fattening her pigs, and Mrs. Diana is going to buy blouses and women's clothing to stock her business.

Mrs. Alfonsa is 34 years old, married, and has three children. Blanca is 13 years old and studies in secondary school. Yesenia is 11 years old and studies in primary school. Christian is 19 years old and works. She is asking for the loan to buy fruits and vegetables like chiles, tomatoes, onions, mangoes, bananas, and oranges to start a business selling in the Amilcingo Plaza. Her husband is going to help her with the customers and set up the stand. She started her business out of a need to have more income and be able to help her family. She has the hope of a better life. She is very happy with this loan and feels proud and happy to receive it. She hopes for her children to have a better life.

Amilcingo is a pretty village where they make peanut, alegria seed, tamarind, and fudge candies. The members of this group want to tell Kiva and the Fundación Realidad “thanks, because you have supported us through everything and have helped us feel more calm".
