Peninah's story

Peninah lives in the Nakulabye neighborhood in the city of Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, all of whom are in school. She also takes care of additional family members (in-laws). Peninah has a business of tailoring. She has been in this business for less than a year and she works 6 days out of every week. Peninah sells her products in a shop. Peninah has requested a loan of 1,200,000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more clothing materials and thread. She also generates additional income through motorcycle for hire. The main business challenge(s) for Peninah include seasonality and increasing prices of clothing materials. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to own a tailoring school.
