Maria Transito's story
María Transito, 33, is single living with her children in Guaranda Canton, Bolívar Province. She has 4 children. The “NUCANCHI KAWSAY” communal bank is located in the community of El Rayo, Guanujo Parish, Guaranda Canton 15 minutes from the Cooperative’s office. The members are engaged in a variety of activities like: farming, cattle raising, commerce, small farm animal raising, bricklaying and sawmill. María farms barley, corn, wheat, broad beans and peas. She has three head of cattle. She does her purchases at Guaranda’s market and sales take place in the wholesale market in that same city. She is asking for the loan to buy farming supplies and animal feed. Support from the loan will help her economically to meet her needs. The challenges she faces are infestations, illnesses and weather variations. Her dream is to provide schooling for her children and do some home improvements. She enjoys strolling through the local countryside and celebrating festivals with her family.
