Mary Grace's story
Mary Grace O. is 41 years old, married and has three children who are all in school. Her oldest child is in university. She lives with her family in Caloocan City. She makes her living running a “sari-sari” (or variety) store which she takes great pride in keeping well stocked. She works on her own and earns about PHP 11,800 a month. She is applying for a loan of PHP 10,000 to buy more items such as rice and groceries to sell to her customers. She is grateful for the help she receives from Kiva lenders and vows to continue working as hard as possible. As a CCT community partner, she faithfully attends the group's weekly fellowship* meeting where she draws strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies. *All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay micro finance loans.
