Teresa's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy supplies.
The “1 de Diciembre” communal bank meets every two weeks in San Clemente. This area is known for its beautiful beaches that are visited by many national and international tourists. It offers diversity in locations and a delicious selection of regional dishes. Here we meet 72 year old Teresa. She is separated but is in a new relationship and has a son who is now in medical school in Cuba. She is a fashion designer and learned this skill several years ago. She’s had a small sewing workshop for many years and makes all types of clothing, but mostly sportswear. She works by taking orders from individual customers, but also makes uniforms for institutions, local schools, and colleges. She works daily from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm and has four operators who work with her and t whom she pays a monthly salary. She tells us that she also pays them overtime during good times. She will use the money from this new loan to buy fabric, buttons, zippers, and other sewing supplies. She’s been in the communal bank for 13 years and is the president of her bank and enjoys it because the loans are very important to her business. Her dream is to travel and visit other cities.
