Twenty-nine-year-old Faridah N. has been subsisting on a food sales business in the heart of Mpigi Food market for the past 3 years. What has been playing in her favor is the fact that she is a farmer. She sells mostly bananas, cassava, maize and cabbage. The happily married mother of 4 has built a track record of hard work and determination over the few years she has been in business. Coupled with her tenacity, civility and good human relationship skills, Faridah anticipates a bright future in her business. Faridah has borrowed a loan before and she has built a pedigree of paying back her loans on time. Faridah says she began this business after the completion of school. She also ekes out additional profits from a small fish sales business. Weekly, her food sales trade generates her profits to the tune of 150,000 UGX and she says with this loan, she is going to purchase more foods like rice, potatoes and beans to resell.
