Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you Fatmata K., a small scale entrepreneur who has come to SMT/Kiva lenders to seek for a loan of SLL 5,000,000 in order to invest in her business. A wife and a mother of three children – two in primary school and one in secondary school – the 42-year-old was born in one of the villages make up Sanda, but she now lives and sells in Kabala town. Fatmata sells market food stuffs like fish, rice, groundnuts, soap, etc. She has been doing this business for 28 years. Fatmata has requested this loan in order to increase her business inventory. With this loan, she estimates buying bags of caustic soda for the production of a large quantity of soap, five bags of husk rice, two bags of cleaned rice, and ten bags of ground-nuts.
