San Gonzalito Group's story

This group is called San Gonzalito because its members are devout followers of this saint. The group is located in Pinotepa Nacional and has ten members who all carry out different business activities in order to support their families. Lorena Edith Pérez Vásquez is the group's representative. She lives with her partner Heriberto who works as a laborer. She has a 5 year-old daughter who is in pre-school. Lorena is requesting a loan so that she can set up a small business. She is planning to establish a grocery store. She would like to set up this business because of her current needs. She has a number of household expenses and her husband's wages are not sufficient to cover them. Her young daughter needs school supplies and sometimes Lorena has to reduce some expenses in order to buy what her young daughter requests. Lorena would like to do well in her business. She is starting the business in spite of the fact that there is competition because she trusts in God. The other members of this group are: Judith (meal sales) Edith (footwear and perfume sales) Lucia (soft drink sales) María (chicken sales) Lucina (grocery sales) Alma (footwear sales) Marcos (chicken sales) Francisca (corn sales) María Ana (underwear sales) Lorena (grocery sales)
