Las Solidarias I Group's story

This group is called SOLIDARIAS because it’s a group of women who constantly support one another, helping one another during adverse situations and laughing together during happy moments. This group is in the state of Mexico and is made up of nine hard working women. Mrs. Zoila R. H. is the treasurer and group leader. She is married and has three children, ages 18, 9, and 5. She has a junior high school education. Zoila makes and sells tortillas and started with a small hotplate on her patio. Now she has a small point of sale and one employee. Zoilita, as she is affectionately referred to, needs this loan to buy dried corn. She tells us that there is nothing more important to her than helping her children to get ahead and helping her husband with the household expenses. One day she would like to have a large tortilla factory with many employees.
