Macedonia's story

Macedonia is a native of Huanta. She is 46 years old and has been widowed for eleven years. Macedonia is a hardworking woman who struggles to provide the best for her six daughters. They live together in their own home in the city of Quimbiri. She began her adventure as a farmer from a young age, working on the land of her parents. Her passion for farming led her to acquire her own land which she purchased with the help of her late husband. Macedonia has worked her parcel of land for 25 years and to this day continues to grow cacao and coffee. During the harvest season, she has the help of workers who are in charge of quickly picking the fruit of each crop in order to complete their work in less time. Macedonia is very committed to her work because her efforts have resulted in the fruits that her plants have produced. She generates good earnings for each kilogram of product that she sells.

The loan she is requesting will be used to acquire cacao plants to add to her fields and to take advantage of the shortened harvest season. At the moment, her greatest priority is to acquire additional farmland so that she can expand her plantings and increase production. This is her fifth loan with MFP and she is willing to complete all of her payments on time. Macedonia wants to be able to access additional loans in the future. She is a well-respected member of her Communal Bank. The loan of 2000 PEN that she requested will be used to buy cacao plants that she will later plant in her fields in order to take advantage of the abbreviated harvest season.
