Teodora's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To buy wholesale fruit.
Teodora is 63 years old and an extraordinary woman. Despite her age she continues to work to get ahead since her children have formed their own families and are independent. She works and lives in her own home on the outskirts of the city of San Ramón (Peruvian central forest). This self-sacrificing woman works selling all types of fruit. She travels constantly to the city of Tarma where she sells fruit retail. The type of fruit she sells is hard to find in the mountain area so she makes a good profit everytime she travels there. She also raises small animals such as hens, ducks and guinea pigs, which are also scarce in the central forest. Income on sales of these types of animals is greater than money invested. What she enjoys most about "working" is that it keeps her active; so now she is planning to grow mangos to add variety to her fruit range. She says few people grow this type of fruit and the ripening and harvest season are once a year so the market price is high. She belongs to the communal bank, "Las brisas". This is her eighth loan through MFP, to which she is grateful for the support received. Teodora plans to use the loan to buy a variety of fruit to sell in the city of Tarma.
