Ibuka Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a large quantity of food items for resale.

Ibuka Group's story

Rose N. is a 61-year-old merchant who lives in the town of Nyanza-Lac, province of Makamba, in southern Burundi. She is a member of the Ibuka solidarity group. She is a widow with five children, three of whom are already married. They are all adults who no longer go to school. She herself never attended school. She sells food items such as bananas, cassava, and palm oil, and has five years of experience in this business. Prior to her current activity, she used to sell beer. She has reached her fourth loan cycle with Turame. She turned to Kiva for a loan to increase her working capital. She will buy a large quantity of food for resale in order to make substantial profits. She hopes that this activity will allow her to support herself despite her age.
