Fuente Para El Desarrollo 1 & 2 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy rice, meat, beans, tables, chairs, etc.

Fuente Para El Desarrollo 1 & 2 Group's story

Modesta is a talented and dynamic woman. She lives in the beautiful town of Samana with her husband. This area, like nearly all impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic, suffers from unreliable running water (none of which is potable) and electricity. Modesta wants to expand her business (a Comedor, home restaurant, where normally clients are from the same community, especially for lunch), into a small restaurant where she can sell breakfast, lunch and dinner. She is excited to receive her 10th loan, and wants to continue improving her business in the future. With this loan, she will be able to buy goods to prepare meals, like rice, meat, beans, tables, chairs, etc. She intends to use her business profits to invest in her business, buying more chairs, tables, tablecloths and other items. Her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican (many of whom recently emigrated to the DR from Haiti) clients generally. Thanks for supporting this group of entrepreneurs!
