Najma's Group's story
Najma lives in Jaranwala which is a small city in Punjab, Pakistan famous for its agriculture industry. She lives there in a 2-room brick house with her family. She is a working woman who shares the financial burden with her family by selling clothes. She started this business 5 years ago. She receives orders from her clients and fulfills them by purchasing clothes from Lahore city. She travels to Lahore once a month for this purpose. Najma is married to M. S., who works in a government school for a low income. She has given birth to 3 sons and a daughter. Her eldest son has a private job. The second one has a construction supplies business, while her younger children are enrolled in a local school and getting their education. Najma has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for the improvement of her clothes selling business. She will use the loan money to buy clothes in bulk quantity which will help her offer more variety of clothes to her clients and make more profits. Bulk purchasing will also cut her costs of transportation. She is a regular loan user of Asasah and this is her forth loan application. She has proved herself as a responsible client by paying her installments on time in previous loan years. Note: In the photo, the lady with a book (called Asasah Passbook) is Najma.
