Andres's story

Andres A. is from the village of Rang-Ayan, Mallig, Isabela. He is 58 years old. Andres is married and has 11 adult children. To make a living, Andres owns & operates a business raising pigs for breeding. Andres has been engaged in his business for over 38 years and earns approximately 7,000 PHP a month for these activities. In 2007, Andres joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve his living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Andres has successfully repaid a previous loan of 26,000 PHP from ASKI. This previous loan was used to purchase livestock feed & other supplies. Andres is requesting a new loan of 35,000 PHP, which will be used to renovate an existing shelter for his pigs. This loan will be the 12th loan taken out by Andres from ASKI. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand his business. About ASKI: ASKI is one of the most successful microfinance institutions in the Philippines. It has 38 branches covering the Central and Northeastern areas.
