Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on soft drinks and beer and to buy a thermos in order to sell hot drinks to her customers.

Maria's story

María, age 38, is an energetic and jovial person. She lives happily in the house that her mother gave her. She lives with her husband, 38 year old Javier, and their three minor children who go to school. It is for them that she works hard every day. When her children were very little only her husband worked. But, as the children were growing the family budget did not suffice. In light of that, she wanted to work. Her husband helped her buy a stand to sell sandwiches. For three years she has been selling “salchipapas” (sausages, chicken, and French fries) in the doorway to her house. It is going well for her because now her children are not lacking for much. This enterprising woman works from five in the afternoon until she finishes selling everything she has prepared. This is at 12 or 1 in the morning. This way she does not lose the money she has invested. She is happy with her business and the profits it provides. She is also happy because she works alone, and that makes her independent. Her immediate plan is to increase her business by selling infusions, soft drinks, and beer. In the future she plans to set up a beauty salon in her house so that she will be able to work during the day. This is her fifth loan with MFP. She is grateful for all of the help that she has received. She pledges to always make her payments on time. She will do this to continue counting on more help, which will allow her to progress. She will use the loan she is requesting to buy soft drinks, beer, and a thermos in order to sell hot drinks that her customers sometimes request.
