Maria Rosario's story

Mrs. Rosario is a member of the "Carmen Cabrejos" communal bank in the Calleria District in the department of Ucayali. She is 66 years old, married and has four children who all have their own families. For ten years she has belonged to the Manuela Ramos group, selling products through catalogue. She also has a display case to exhibit her products for all to see. With the new 3,000 PEN loan she plans to buy beauty products such as cosmetics and perfume: 2 mascaras, 3 eyeshadow sets, 2 compact blush-ons, 2 lotions, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 2 hair creams, 1 permanent hair color, 2 sunscreens, 4 children's cologne, 2 liquid soaps, 2 talcum powders, 3 eyeliners, 2 lip glosses, 2 retractile eyeliners, 2 purifying facial masks for mixed skin, 2 makeup removers, 2 eye and lip makeup remover gel, anti-puffiness eye gel. She invests her loans in her business since this is her source of income and she needs to keep it well stocked. Generally she sells to customers on a credit basis and they pay her weekly, monthly or daily, depending on the terms of agreement. Manuela Ramos gave her this opportunity and she is taking full advantage of it. She wants to conintue working to help her family.
