Hilaria's story

Hilaria is a young woman with one child, a single mother, who lives in the community of Sipe Sipe, 25 km from the city of Cochabamba. She has three head of dairy cattle, whose milk she uses to produce farmer's cheese. She sells her products in the village of Sipe Sipe, where she also has a small sales stand and sells typical foods, such as dried meat and fried pork, from Friday to Monday. Hilaria's son attends school in the village of Sipe Sipe, and after school, he helps her in her sales stand until 5 in the evening. After that, they go to their home, which is a 20-minute walk from the village. Hilaria would like to expand her food business, buying a larger stove and bigger pots, because her customer base is increasing. This is because the area receives a lot of visitors who arrive in the village for religious events. Hilaria would like to provide better living conditions for her son, so that he will not lack for anything in his studies, and with time, she would like to be able to open a large restaurant.
