A loan helped To buy organic fertilizer for farming.

Cirilo's story

Cirilo A. C. is 38 years old, married to Jacinta Villca Apaza for more than 18 years. They have 3 small children, and live in Pisly, 92 km. from Cochabama. Cirilo is a farmer, growing potatoes, papaliza (a type of potato, ulluscus tuberosus), oca (a tuber, oxalis tuberosa), and raises cattle. They need money to buy organic fertilizer. Right now fertilizer is cheap, and they do not yet have the income from their farming. Cirilo is a modest man, hard-working and reliable. It is hard for him to go to the city’s banks, for they have many requirements. He took the initiative to come here for a loan. Cirilo is pleased to have secured a loan, and will now buy organic fertilizer at the right time, to be ready for sowing this year. He will have savings for his children’s studies, and to improve his housing, which is made of stone with a straw roof. Most people in the area have precarious dwellings, stone with straw roofs.
