Momoh B.a's Group's story

These are teachers of the KMDEC Moiwo St I & II in Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. This school was founded in 1960 by the Kallon family in order to improve education in the district. This school is currently staffed with 71 teachers and has an enrollment of 1692 pupils. This is the first time that teachers of the KMDEC primary school have benefited from a loan from SMT/Kiva lenders. They have requested a loan of SLL 13,100,000 to enable them to buy or invest in something that their meager salaries cannot let them do. Momoh B.A. A. is the leader of this group of teachers. He was born in Vaahun village in eastern Sierra Leone and has been in the teaching profession for 35 years. Momoh is 51 years old and married to a businesswoman. They have 6 children – 2 in college and 4 adults. With his share of this loan, Momoh will pay college fees for his children.
