Andrew's story

Andrew has a mixed farm in Kitale town, western Kenya that produces milk, vegetables, eggs and bananas. She has been in the farming business for eight years now and sells his products to the local market. He mainly depends on the income from his farm to cater for the basic needs of his family. He has requested for a loan of KES 81,600 through Juhudi Kilimo to purchase and insure a dairy cow. The extra income from this loan will enable him to improve the livelihood of his family. He plans to acquire at least 5 more dairy cows and a posho mill in the next 5 years. He faces the challenge of diseases and the high cost of artificial insemination services. Andrew is 40 years old and married. He has 6 children whose ages rage between 18 months and 18 years. Four of the children are currently attending school.
