Horl's Group's story
This village bank loan is made up of 12 members, all of whom live in Tep Archun village in Kandal province. Mrs. Horl S., born in 1962, is the village bank president, and was selected for this position by the other members. Her husband, Mr. Soa Sophal, also born in 1962, earns a small income as a police officer, and he also helps his wife in her farming business. The couple has four children: one is a truck driver, one is a farmer, and the other two are students. Mrs. Horl S. is a farmer who owns a plot of land which she uses to grow peanuts and corn for a living. Aside from being a farmer, she also sells fish at the local market. In order to support her farming business, she is requesting a loan in order to buy peanut seeds and corn seeds, as well as to pay for hired laborers to plow her farm in preparation for growing her crops.
