Lavodi Plus Group's story
M. is the leader of the Community Bank named “Lavodi Plus”. It is composed of 12 members united in solidarity to receive Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses. M. is 40 years old and the father of five children whose ages vary between 1 and 12 years old. Three of them go to school. He has been active in his business since 1999. He sells mattresses in the western area of Kinshasa. He has already taken out three loans from the MFI HOPE DRC for business expansion and fully repaid them. Thanks to Hope’s loans, his business has prospered and it generates a profit of $100 per week. M. intends with the next loan to increase the inventory of his business by buying some more mattresses to resell at a profit and increase his income. His ambition is to diversify his business and become a provider in his environment. He works hard in order to achieve his dream.
