A loan helped Acquire party dresses.

María's story

María belongs to the Communal Bank “Vida Nueva” (New Life), which is in the city of Longaví. She has been producing and selling party dresses for fifteen years. María buys her materials in the cities of Linares and Santiago. Her work material consists primarily of used garments that she repurposes into new designs of gowns. She also has a bazaar where she sells the dresses. Her daughter helps with selling dresses in the bazaar.

María has many regular customers, including schools, which purchase dresses for school functions. With this loan, she plans to buy party dresses in larger sizes.

Her dream is to increase the number of customers, including schools, which she serves. This requires that she increase her production. In addition, she wants to learn how to sew and purchase both a sewing machine and an embroidery machine so that she can expand her business.

For María, the assistance from Fondo Esperanza has been essential to her business. It has enabled her to finance her business and learn more how to manage it. Thanks to her earnings, María has been able to fund her daughter’s higher education.
