Fátima Susana's story
In the city of Bellavista de Portoviejo, capitl of Manabí, long known as the city of the Reales Tamarindos, meet the members of the Communal Bank. This is where we met Señora Fátima, she is 55 years old and is married. She and her husband have two older children who both study at the university but live with them. Her husband is a medical veterinarian and he works at the University Laica en Manta. Señora Fátima is a housewife and to increase her own resources she sells clothes, shoes and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and accessories for ladies). She works three days a week, selling door to door but she also reports that her clients come to her house to see and buy her products, these customers pay with credit or charge every week or the 15th of every month, whichever agreement her clients prefer. The clothes and shoes she buys in Guayaquil and the Yanbal products are sent to her house. This loan is to buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics, shoes, and clothes. This is Señora Fátima's fourth loan cycle with the Communal Bank, she likes working with the bank because the loans are easy to make. Her dream is to have a car and her own store.
