Daysi's story

The Quiroga communcal bank meets every two weeks In the Quiroga parish of the city of Calceta. In this area many people are involved in farming, raising livestock and selling their products. Mrs. Daysi is a founding member of the communal bank and acts as its secretary. She enjoys the additional benefits the institution brings as well as the good credit terms it offers. She is 46 years old and married, and has four children, two of which are adults and the other two are 17 and 15 years old. These two still live with her and study at the university and high school. Her husband is a security guard. She is a homemaker that has been able to provide for her family. She has an organic fertilizer business and sells to the greenhouses and farms in the area. She learned her trade a long time ago and is doing very well since she receives many orders for her products, especially in the seed sewing season. She works Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Her work is hard but has its advantages. The loan is to buy certain components for the production of organic fertilizer. Her goal is to provide a good lifestyle for her children so they can be successful in their careers.
