Sop Serigne Fallou Group's story
The Sop Serigne Fallou solidarity group was created on December 15, 2009. It is composed of 20 women who all come from the same neighborhood. For some time they have created income-generating businesses together. The group is affiliated with the TOUB. SERAS 1 Banc Villageois. Mrs. Rokhaya F., standing at the far right of the photo with a broad smile, is the leader of the group. She is 51 years old, married and the mother of 6 children. She also provides for two children entrusted to her care. She has a small business selling fruits and vegetables. In addition to this business, she plans to sell beignets (a type of doughnut). Her new loan will enable her to expand her business selling fruits, vegetables and beignets. Her goals are to help her husband support the family and to increase her level of savings.
