Odixa Margarita's story

In the parish on Portoviejo street, the members of the Crucita Communal Bank meet. The area is known for its beautiful beaches that surround this lovely place and are frequented by local and foreign tourists who know the locale as Crucita la Bella. Odixa is the founding member of the communal bank and she likes it because with the loans she has been able to grow her business and improve her quality of life. She is 39 years old. She is married, and from this marriage she has two children: a son who is 20 and a daughter who is 10 years old. They are studying at the university and at school. Her husband raises chickens. She and her husband raise chickens. She tells us that they sell up to 200 chickens a month. They have these chickens for two months so they can later slaughter them and take them to the local markets and the Portoviejo market. They work every day feeding and taking care of the chickens so they can have good production. She says that these little animals need a lot of care because if they are not cared for there can be many losses because the chickens are delicate. But she tells us that thanks to God, they have never lost many. This loan is for buying chickens, feed, and medicines so they can have good production. Her dream is to have a car to transport her products and the purchases that they have every month.
