Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To buy plantations and to buy foodstuffs for her grocery store.
María is 48 years old. She has been a widow for 12 years but, in spite of this, she has cared very well for her five children and has managed to get them ahead in life. She lives in her own home which is located in a community in the central Peruvian jungle. María's struggle has been constant since, following the death of her husband, she had to make more income. For this reason, 10 years ago, she set up a business selling sweet treats and iced treats in her home. In spite of the little time that she has available María works hard since her business is very popular in the summer. In parallel with this business, she also grows bananas and coffee on her two hectares of farmland. To get her children ahead in life, she would like to set up more food stores in the areas neighboring her community since they are remote areas and she figures that she will not have much competition. In addition, this will increase her profits. María belongs to the "Las Palmas" community bank and this is the first loan that she has had with MFP. She assures us that she will be able to gain good experience in achieving her goals. In order to achieve a good coffee bean, María is planning to invest her loan money in renovating her plantations. She would also like to stock her food store. In this way, she hopes to continue making progress.
