Sop Serigne Babacar Group

This solidarity group was formed on 5/14/10. It is made up of 11 women from the same area, who came together as friends and neighbors. Their group belongs to the Banc Villageois "Fonk Sa Bopp Grand Louga." Kady D., standing on the right of the photo wearing a white wrap, is the group's leader. She is 46 years old, married and the mother of 6 dependent children. Kady runs a small business selling fresh fish, and she also sells clothes and shoes. Her new loan will allow her to strengthen these activities in order to make more profit than before. She helps her husband in paying for the children's schooling. Little by little, she is also looking for furniture for her house.
