A loan helped To buy materials to make clothes and to buy drinks to sell.

Maritza Del Pilar's story

Maritza Del Pilar is a 48 year old, single entrepreneur. When she was a little girl she learned how to make clothes. She has been designing and making clothes for more than 10 years now. She also sells sodas and juices at her store. Maritza has two children who are both married. Her daughter, who lives close by, helps making clothes and selling drinks at her store. Maritza lives in an area in the south of Guayaquil, called Isla Trinitaria. This area is known for its lawlessness and its scant basic services. Luckily Maritza's home is made of cement and has electricity and water. Due to unsafe conditions in the area, it is sometimes too dangerous in the street, forcing Maritza to close her store early. Maritza will use the loan to buy material needed to make and repair clothes and to buy drinks to sell in her store. In the future Martiza hopes to open a small store and to fix the top floor of her house. She would also like to have a place to design high quality clothes.
