Nancy Yolanda's story
Mrs. Nancy B. is a member of the Buscando el Exito ["Searching for Success"] community bank. She lives in the city of Cuenca, known for its culture and traditions. The beauty of this city captivates natives and strangers; it has a large variety of gastronomy, its people are very kind and polite, and they maintain their culture and traditions. Nancy is 44 and in a common-law marriage. She has 3 children ages 23, 19 and 6. Her oldest daughter helps her in the house, her second son studies in university and her youngest daughter is in school. Nancy does not have her own home because she rents. She sells food in her own kiosk. She has been doing this for 5 years and only works on the weekends since on the other days of the week she cares for her home. She is a founding member of the community bank and she will invest her loan in the purchase of dishes and supplies for her business. Her dream is to have her own home.
