The Banco D. Emprendimiento 16th of July is a group in it's 5th loan cycle that is maD. up of 10 women, the majority of whom live in the Kupini zone. The community bank meetings are held in Doña Carmen's house. Doña Carmen is the treasurer of the group, and she sells food in her community. Her principal economic activity, however, is the administration of her taxi, which she rents out on a daily basis. Her husband is a bricklayer and together they are raising their grandchild who is an orphan. Both of them live in a rented home where they have lived for 20 years. With the loan funds they will purchase supplies to make their plates. The president of the group is Señora Guadalupe who makes aprons and sells them in the market. She takes orders and delivers them to stalls in the market. She lives in her own house with four children, the oldest of whom works at the city hall and and helps her with household expenses. Señora Guadalupe is very hard working and responsible, with her loan funds she will purchase fabrics and strings to make aprons. Each of the women in the group is personally responsible and hard working. They are committed to improving their families' quality of life, and they are grateful for the help provided by the institution.
