Blas's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To buy several sacks of organic fertilizer.
47 year-old Blas lives with his common-law wife, 49 year-old Dionisia. They have one son: 8 year-old Gerson. The three of them live together as a family in their own home which is located in the town of Ricrican. Blas grows potatoes, olluco (a native tuber) and mashua (a native tuber). They are his main crops. What Blas most likes about his work is going out every morning, together with his radio. To the rhythm of his music he cares for, irrigates and applies manure to his crops. He says that the land is his life. Since he was a young boy, Blas grew up learning farming techniques. For this reason, every harvest is a symbol of his perseverance and the good care that he takes of his land. In his town's wholesale market he sells not only the crops which he grows but also the meat from the lambs that he raises. However, unlike other residents, he also sells the wool from these animals which is very thick and helps protect people from the cold. Blas would like to buy a truck which would allow him to travel more easily. This is his seventh loan with MFP. He comments, very happily, that thanks to the support of his community bank, he has been able to get ahead in life. He will use his loan to buy several sacks of organic fertilizer which he will spread on his crops.
