Silvia Emerita's story

Mrs. Silvia O. is a member of the Génesis (Genesis) communal bank in Cuenca’s Ucubamba sector. This city is renowned for the beauty that surrounds it. Its historic city center was named Cultural Patrimony of Humanity. Its people are very gracious and warmhearted. Silvia is 37 years old, married and has three children who are 16, 15 and 12 years of age. They all go to a local school. Her husband is a heavy machine operator. They do not own a house; they rent. Silvia makes crafts and is currently making Christmas decorations. She also does all kinds of sewing, a skill she learned on her own. She has been in this occupation for 6 months. In her free time she sells catalogue cosmetics of the Esika brand. She’s been doing this for the last 8 months. This is her fifth loan and she will use it to buy a sewing machine. Her goal is to have a business of her own where she sells her crafts.
