A loan helped To purchase sports clothing and cosmetics to sell.
Maria is a 34-year-old single mother of 2 who lives with her children in Puntarenas, Corredores, in the southern region of Costa Rica. Throughout her time as a client of Fundación Mujer (since 1997), María has displayed her ability to be a responsible client and make punctual repayments. Maria has spent the last 8 years dedicated to her productive activity: the sale of catalogue items such as sports clothing and cosmetics. Maria is divorced and struggles every month to make ends meet. Currently, she is living on a property owned by her sister. Maria hopes to use this loan to invest in various catalogue items which she intends to sell. She says that in order to improve the efficiency of her business, she needs to wake up earlier and be more organized. Her goals are to sell more products and to fully satisfy the needs of her clients. Maria says her main obstacle is the high level of competition in her area. Many catalogue vendors are competing for the same clients. She has also had trouble with collecting payments for sales she makes on credit.
