A loan helped To buy two phones and phone credits for business.

Nanki's story

Nanki R. was born in 1970. She is married and the couple is blessed with three children, all under 15 years old. She lives in a small house with three rooms with her family on Foncha Street, in a quarter in Bamenda, in the northwest region of Cameroon. R. has faced some challenges in life: the inability to meet the basic necessities of her family -- like clothing, food, and transportation, the inability to educate herself and her children, and difficulties in raising capital to start up a small business. To sustain herself and her family, she plans to invest this loan into a phone booth business. With this loan she is going to buy two phones and transfer the credit and related bonus in the two phones which she sells to her customers. She believes the business will succeed because the previous loan she took was repaid by the income raised from an old phone of hers. Therefore, she concludes that she is sure the business will succeed. She is certain that this business will succeed because the services she renders are in high demand in the market. The loan will help her community because they will be able to afford food ingredients. R. will plough part of the profit back into her business and use part to care for her family. She also will use the proceeds to pay her children’s school fees and cater for the family. She prefers GHAPE because of the training she frequently receives and the low cost in obtaining and paying back a loan.
