La Paz Group's story

The “La Paz” community bank will start its first cycle with Pro Mujer in the Senkata Community Center. La Paz is comprised of eight members. The board is formed by a president, treasurer and secretary. The businesses represented by its members vary: food sales, metal casting, door-to-door sales of household goods, event decorating, backpack sales, beauty products and toy sales. In the case of the president, Maria Luisa lives in a household comprised of her husband and six children. She learned the metal casting business from a friend and has been self-employed for some time. She conducts sales in the main square of the area where she lives. She works with her children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Maria says that she likes the savings capabilities, and access to consulting and training.
