Jean Chepngetich's story
Jean Chepngetich is 25 years old, married to Moses Kigen, and they have one child. Jean has been in a salon business for a period of one year and her monthly income is 28,000 KES. Her business is in Tambach town and most of her clients are from the town and the surrounding area. She has never borrowed from any other MFI and has applied for her first loan of 30,000 KES which she intends to use as follows: pay rent worth 2,000 KES, buy cosmetics for 6,000 KES, dryer worth 12,000 KES, blow dryer worth 4,000 KES, and buy ribbons for 4,000 KES. The anticipated profits from the salon will be used to expand the salon and open other branches. This being her first loan, Jean hopes that it will increase her profits, thus fulfilling her dreams to build her own home in the near future and own a Range Rover.
