Flamingo Group's story

Mwajuma M. is in her late forties. She is married and has a 7-year-old daughter. Mwajuma has been running a food vending business since 2007. Between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm daily, Mwajuma provides ready-cooked meals to her customers. The business earns Mwajuma a low monthly profit. This will be Mwajuma's second loan with Tujijenge Tanzania. Mwajuma used her first loan to increase her capital, allowing her to stock up on goods faster when they ran out. This loan has since been successfully repaid. With her second loan, Mwajuma aims to increase her stock and to continue to build herself a new house. Mwajuma will share this loan with her loan group Flamingo, which totals 17 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for repaying the loans. In the picture, Mwajuma can be seen on the far right wearing red.
