Sajida's Group's story

Sajida is a resident of Raiwind, a small city in Pakistan known for its dairy industry. She lives with her family in a 2-room brick house in the area of Raja jang. She moved here 21 years ago after her marriage to M. A., a security guard in a private organization. Sajida has 3 sons and 2 daughters. Her elder son works in a factory while the other children are studying at the local school.

Sajida supports her family financially by doing embroidery. She has a good number of clients in nearby areas and receives regular orders from them every month. She learned embroidery skills from her mother before her marriage and now these skills are providing monetary advantages for her. Sajida has applied for a loan from Kiva's partner Asasah to improve her embroidery business. She will purchase embroidery material such as beads, colored thread and unstitched clothing in bulk and craft new embroidery designs that will help her finish her orders on time and increase her household income. Sajida has been operating this business for over 10 years and she is confident that business conditions will improve after making this loan investment. She is a regular lender with Asasah and this is her 2nd loan application. In previous loan years, she has built a good credit record and attended every meeting.
