Ghulam Sughran's Group's story

Ghulam Sughran is a housewife. She prefers to stay at home and perform her household responsibilities. She lives in Khanewala, Pakistan, a city that is famous for its agriculture industry. She has lived in the Basti Zahoorabad area with her family for over 9 years. She is the mother of three sons. Her eldest son operates a shop in the market where he sells milk and yogurt. Her youngest son is studying in 4th class. The middle one is free and doesn’t do anything. Sughran has applied for a loan from Asasah, a Kiva field partner, to help her husband's fruit business. He sells fresh fruits from his four-wheeled cart by visiting different streets of the city. He buys fruit cheaply from the fruit markets and sells them for a good profit. With the loan, he will buy a new cart and seasonal fruits to improve his business. He needs to replace his cart because many parts are broken and its wheels are out of order. Sughran hopes that the loan investment in her husband’s business will be a profitable one and he will be able to improve his business. She is a regular Asasah borrower and this is her 3rd loan application. In previous loan years, she has maintained good credit behavior and attended every meeting. In the photo, Ghulam Sughran is the woman who is holding the Asasah Passbook.
