Buena Fé Group's story

The Buena Fé ("Good Faith") committee was born in December 2008 with the guidance and support of another committee that was working in the same location. They continue to bring some new members into the group. One of the members is Señora Maria, a hardworking woman who sells fruit in the municipal market from a rented booth. She buys fruit from suppliers who travel in from the countryside and sell their fruit at lower prices than local suppliers. She has been doing this work for a while and has customers who visit for the quality of her products. Currently the fruit that customers buy most are bananas, oranges, pineapple and watermelon. It is to buy these that she has requested the loan.
