Fany Rocio's story
Mrs. Fanny L., 36, is a member of the Mi Bankito communal bank. She lives in Guaguanchi which is part of Valle parish. This parish has a cold climate and is known for the beauty of its natural scenery. Its residents are dedicated to farming and animal raising. She is married and has three children who are 16, 14 and 11 years of age. Her two oldest children go to high school in the city and the youngest is in school. Her husband is a tailor and has a workshop installed in their home. The home they reside is theirs and they have built it with the effort they’ve put into their work. Fanny is also a tailor. She has been in this occupation for 13 years. She learned this skill while still very young. She has worked at this and in time set up her own workshop with help from her husband. They work from Monday through Saturday from 8am until 6pm. Since she works from home she also has time to raise chickens and pigs which she sells in her community and also uses for her family’s consumption. She is in her 3rd loan with the communal bank. Her sister invited her to join. The previous loans have been used to buy raw materials and this one will be used to buy a fabric cutting machine for her workshop. Her greatest wish is to have a factory.
