Ignacia's story

Ignacia is a micro-entrepreneur who sells animals and meat. Her business is located in Hato Mayor, an agricultural city in the northeast part of the country. She joined Esperanza because she wanted to invest in her business. Ignacia received her first loan six years ago and today she manages a butcher shop. She is a mother of four children who she is raising along with her husband, which can be a difficult challenge. Ignacia is always working to bring more income into her household. She enjoys staying active. Working is her favorite activity because she is always looking for something to do, whether it be running her business or cleaning her house.

Ignacia is very excited about receiving her eleventh loan from Esperanza International, having successfully repaid her previous loans and taken steps to grow her business. She has been in business for approximately six years. Ignacia will invest this new loan in the purchase of animals, such as goats and beef cattle. In addition, she plans to take advantage of the holiday seasons when pork is consumed. She will use her earnings to continue reinvesting in her business and accumulate savings so that her children can become professionals, which is her greatest dream.
